Preschool 3 4-year-olds and 5-year-olds who have passed Pre-School II. Swimmers feel comfortable going underwater and can perform some skills independently.
Swimmers learn how to move in the water on their own:
- Step from the side into chest-deep water, push off the pool bottom and tread water or float on their back for 15 seconds, swim on the front or back five body lengths, and then exit the water
- Float on their back for 15 seconds, then roll to their front and stand up or recover to a vertical position in the water
- Push off and swim using both arm and leg actions on front for five body lengths, roll to their back and float for 15 seconds, then roll to their front and continue swimming for five body lengths.
Swimmers must perform all skills without any assistance from the teacher.
After completing Preschool 3, swimmers should sign up for Level 2.
