Game Rules
Game Start: The game will start with rock-paper-scissors. The winner will decide if they want the ball first or to defend.
Game End: The first team to 21 points is the winner or whoever is up after the 15 minutes. If tied after 15 minutes, the next basket wins.
Game Length: 15 minutes long with a running clock. Half-Court only. (No-Full Court)
Substitutions: Players are allowed to sub themselves during any stoppage of play or after a made basket.
Made Basket: The ball must be re-checked at the top of the key after a team makes a basket. Alternate possession on made baskets. No, make it take it.
Missed Basket: The ball must be taken out past the 3-point line along with the entire player's body after a missed basket and rebound by the defense. This also includes airballs.
Out-of-bounds: Any ball that goes out of bounds must be re-checked at the top of the key. (Half-Court is out of bounds)
Scoring: 2 points inside the arc. 3 points outside the arc.
Free-Throws: If a player is fouled, they will only get 1 free throw. Any time a player is fouled, and they make the basket (And-1) they will receive 1 free throw worth 1 point. If a player is fouled inside the arc, the player will be rewarded 1 free throw worth 2 points. If a player is fouled behind the 3-point line, the player will receive 1 free throw worth 3 points.
Bonus (Team Fouls): A team will be in the bonus on the 7th team foul. The player that’s fouled will get 1 shot worth 1 point. If the player misses, the ball is then live and only must be taken back if the defense gains possession. A player can’t foul out. Keep track of team fouls only.
Ball Sizes: Girls- 28.5 (5th-12th) Boys- 28.5 (5th-6th) Boys- 29.5 (7th-12th)
Jump Ball: Alternating possession
Roster Rules: A team must have at least 3 players on the roster and no more than 5. A game can’t be played unless both teams have 3 players on the floor. Players are only allowed on 1 roster.
Parents: This is an opportunity for your kid to play free without stressing about getting pulled from the game if they make mistakes! Coaches aren’t allowed. Parents must sit and watch from their seats.
